In the Gloam
McColl Center for Visual Art I Wood, Mylar, Sound & Video I 20’x15’x 40’
"In The Gloam" is a site-specific installation build inside a former church bell tower at the McColl Center for Visual Art in Charlotte, NC. This work explores the history of the site and its connection to the surrounding landscape.
A video depicting the rhythmic motion of waves from a local river, is abstracted by a 15’ tall wooded structure responding to both the architecture and history of the site. The sound of bells filling the space were collected from active bell towers in the city.
