Murmurations
Murmurations
Clay and Video
25" x 11" x 9"
2013

"Murmurations" is a small clay sculpture with a window like opening in the center, housing a video of water reflecting undulating sunlight along the surface. Providing a tactile relationship with the viewer, the work explores the sensuous interior landscape of the body through themes of place and time in motion. Artscope Magazine described the work as “peering into a new world” which is “a tiny gemstone buried and hidden deep within the sand or a conch shell whispering the sounds of the ocean. Without even touching her sculpture, viewers can feel the soft folds in the clay, imagining the stories behind this crafted ‘shell.’”
